Kenya is located in the so-called "coffee belt". This refers to the tropical and subtropical regions around the equator, where ideal conditions prevail for the extremely sensitive coffee plants. 

Kenyan coffee is characterized by high quality - but the country cannot yet look back on a long tradition, as is the case, for instance, in Äthiopien the case. Today, there are more than 1,300 large plantations as well as a large number of small farmers who are entrusted with cultivation. The most important regions are Kirinyaga, Nyeri, Kiambu and Murang'a. At altitudes ranging from 1,500 to 2,100 meters, the plants there enjoy ideal conditions to develop slowly and unfold their full aroma.
